Long-Term Buyer Partnerships & Coal Sourcing
PT Intan Nusantara Indonesia supplies Indonesian coal to power utilities, industrial boiler operators, and international traders. We handle each phase from mine-mouth allocation to delivery onto the ocean vessel.
A Supply Partner for International Off-Takers
Buying coal in Indonesia works best with a counterparty that delivers on its commitments, keeps to monthly vessel laycans, and has independent quality checks on every cargo. PT INI connects international utility demand with verified mining capacity in South, Central, and East Kalimantan.
Long-term contracts are priced against the ICI-3 and ICI-4 indices, with off-take quotas set per concession. Buyers can follow operations from the river terminal to the ocean bulk carrier.
PT Intan Nusantara Indonesia agrees supply partnerships only against verified concession extraction capacity, stockpile inventory on hand, and confirmed laycan slots.
We do not publish customer lists or volume figures we cannot verify. Each partnership is agreed bilaterally under verified mining titles (IUP-OP / PKP2B) and settled through documented bank payment instruments.
Buyer Partnership Models
We offer seven structures, from a single-vessel trial shipment to multi-year joint mining off-take. The right one depends on the buyer's volume, risk tolerance, and procurement plan.

Spot Cargo
Single cargo with a prompt laycan. Used by power utilities covering a short-term fuel deficit, testing a seasonal shipping lane, or buying when spot prices dip.
Trial Shipment
A first shipment for new international buyers. It lets the buyer check boiler combustion behavior, independent surveyor results (SGS/Sucofindo), and customs clearance before committing to a longer term.
Recurring Shipment
Multi-month off-take with fixed monthly loading slots at Taboneo or Satui anchorages, giving industrial plants and regional IPPs a scheduled fuel supply.
Annual Supply Arrangement
12-month procurement agreement with priority quarterly laycans and reserved stockpile volumes, so buyers can fix their fuel budget in advance.
Long-Term Supply (KSO Off-Take)
Multi-year supply under a joint operation (KSO) with our mining partners. Pit seams are reserved across our 21 partner concessions, and the buyer pays no intermediary broker markup.
Strategic Procurement Partnership
We act as the buyer's local procurement and execution team in Indonesia. We handle multi-mine sourcing, quality blending, barge logistics, and export documentation on the buyer's behalf.
Buyer-Specific Sourcing
Coal blended to a specific boiler design: sulfur below 0.50%, low volatile matter, or ash fusion temperature (AFT) above 1250°C, reached by blending lots from several pits.
10-Stage Buyer Support Lifecycle
Every shipment is supported by our operations and technical teams, from the first boiler requirement review to post-shipment settlement.
Requirement Analysis
Detailed review of buyer technical requirements: guaranteed vs. typical calorific values (GAR/NAR), moisture limits, ash limits, grindability (HGI), discharge berth draft restrictions, and target delivery schedule.
Product Matching
We match boiler combustion requirements to Kalimantan coal grades (GAR 3800 to 6300 kcal/kg) and model slagging and fouling indices for the buyer's boiler.
Concession Sourcing
Direct seam allocation across our 21 partner concession pits (>22,292 Ha) in South and East Kalimantan. Pit extraction plans and haulage trucks are reserved for the buyer's parcel.
Commercial Coordination
Negotiation of the Sales & Purchase Agreement (SPA) under Incoterms 2020 (FOB Barge, FOB Vessel, CFR, CIF), and agreement on the payment instrument: Documentary L/C at sight, Usance L/C, or T/T.
Quality Coordination
Separate stockpile lots at river terminals. Run-of-Mine (ROM) coal is crushed to 0–50 mm, moisture is controlled, and infrared thermal monitoring guards against spontaneous combustion.
Independent Inspection
Mechanical falling-stream sampling during conveyor loading (ISO 13909 / ASTM D2234), plus initial and final draft surveys at deepwater anchorages. These set the bill of lading weight (COW) and quality (COA).
Logistics Execution
Scheduling of 300ft/330ft river barges, river draft management in tidal windows, and floating crane transshipment into ocean bulk carriers at Taboneo, Asam Asam, Muara Satui, or Tg Pemancingan.
Export Documentation
Preparation of the full export document set: Clean On-Board B/L, COA, COW, COO (Form E/AK/ICO), PEB/NPE customs release, and Laporan Surveyor (LS) for L/C negotiation.
Shipment Monitoring
Vessel laycan tracking, master ETA updates logged at 10/7/5/3/2/1 days, Notice of Readiness (NOR) validation, weather monitoring, and stevedore loading rate checks to avoid demurrage.
Post-Shipment Support
Support with destination customs queries, reconciliation of bank presentations, review of boiler burning performance, and planning of rolling laycans for later shipments.
Partnership Operating Principles
Operational Transparency
We report openly on concession seam origin, stockpile inventory, barge dispatch logs, and surveyor draft surveys. Every party in the chain is named.
Direct Pit Access
Our supply comes from 21 verified concession pits (>22,292 Ha) holding valid IUP-OP and PKP2B licenses, with direct operating ties and no speculative brokers in between.
Full Regulatory Compliance
We follow Indonesian mineral export rules: royalties paid through e-PNBP SIMPONI, Coal Registered Exporter status, and export proceeds repatriated to domestic banks under PP No. 21/2026 (DHE SDA).
Advisory vs. Physical Commodity Supply
We offer international coal buyers two separate engagements: independent advisory, or physical coal supply.
Coal Business & Sourcing Advisory
Market intelligence, supplier vetting (KYS), boiler specification matching, and contract review. Independent advisory with no physical coal involved, charged on a fee or retainer basis.
- No physical commodity purchase commitment
- Independent concession audits and contract review
- Support for buyers evaluating Indonesian coal deals from other suppliers
Buyer Procurement & Off-Take Partnership
Physical thermal coal supply transactions executed under formal Sales & Purchase Agreements (SPA). Direct delivery from our 21 partner concessions with accredited independent analysis (COA/COW).
- Direct coal delivery: FOB Barge, FOB Vessel, CFR, CIF
- Laycans confirmed across 10 partner river jetty terminals
- Contract quality specifications verified by SGS, Sucofindo & Carsurin
